Spennymoor A edged one point clear at the top of the First Division after they only dropped one point to foot of the table, Old Shildon. Peter Coates took the lone point for Shildon, whilst the Moors had wins from Paul Biddle, Karl Welsh, Michael Pratt and Paul Atkinson.
Wheatley Hill A slipped a point behind the Moors but things looked worse in their home match against Bearpark A when the visitors went two up with wins from Glen Morton and Shaun Easter. Ronnie Peacock and Alan Hall pulled the Hill level and then Dave Walker took them to victory by beating Andy Donaldson in the decider.
Third placed Cockton Hill only managed to take one point on their visit to Fishburn A. The home side had wins from John Griffin with a 42 break, Alan Buist, Charlie Hirst with a 35 break and John Carter. Vickers Bell took the visitors point.
Witton Gilbert held on to fourth place with an odd point win over the visiting Brandon. Witton had wins from Willis Joynes, John Rooney junior and Ian Renwick, whilst John Hall and Kevin Sample replied for Brandon.
Wingate held on to fifth place despite losing by the odd point at home to Sherburn Village. Dean Jones and Steve Allen won for the home side with Adrian Twist, on his debut this season, Alan Greener and Albert Bower taking Sherburn to victory.
Shotton Palms did well to recover at home to beat Newton Aycliffe. Richie Young put the visitors ahead but Paul Hickman levelled. Bill Barrigan restored the Aycliffe lead only to see Dave Swindle level. James Evans took the Palms to victory by beating George Murray in the decider.
Crowtrees A moved seven points clear at the top of the Second Division after they whitewashed the visiting Meadowfield. The home points came from Phil Whitfield, Steve Armstrong with a 37 break, Sonny Hann, Sean Johnston and Keith McLauchlan.
Willington held on to second place in the Second Division despite being well beaten by the visiting Sacriston. Arthur Goldsborough saved a home whitewash by taking the final frame, whilst Sacriston's points came from Willy Nixon, Jeff Evans, Alan Richardson and Dale Evans.
Coundon, Newhouse and Meadowfield share third place a point behind Willington. Coundon beat the visiting Wheatley Hill B by the odd point. Stuart Neill, Graham Goulbourn and Dennis Payne, on his debut this season, won for Coundon with Philip Taylor and Steve Cave taking points for the Hill.
Newhouse went down by the odd point at Ferryhill A, who had wins from Ian Fawcett, Bernie Jones and Neil Spender. Paul Wright and Ian Dinsdale won for the visitors.
Belmont trailed at Stanley Central when Andy Craig and Walter Cornell took the first two frames. However Chris Morley and Billy McGrath levelled and then Michael Short took the visitors to victory by beating Bob Oxley in the decider.
Langley Park made their best win of the season when they only dropped one point to the visiting Spennymoor B, who produced their worst result. Only Phil Wilson managed to take a point for the Moors whilst the Park went to victory with wins from Stephen Coates, Peter Morgan, Kevin Keers and Lawrence Jones.
New Durham continue to dominate the Third Division but were pressed to win by the odd point against the visiting Leeholme A. Kevin Scullion, Thomas Cairns and Neil Phillips won for the home side with Karl Thompson and Barry Shaw replying.
Hunwick A and Tow Law B share the second place ten points adrift of New Durham after both made odd point wins. Hunwick visited Durham City and took the first three points through Ian Richardson, Neville Blenkinsopp and Peter Mernor, whilst John Davies and Brian Dunn took the last two for Durham City.
Tow Law B were taken to the decider before edging through against the visiting Fishburn B. John Wilson put the Lawyers ahead but Jamie Hodgson levelled. John Warriner restored the home lead only to see Winston Hodgson level. In the decider Charlie Donaghy took the Lawyers to victory by beating Dave Blyth.
Hunwick B moved two points behind in fourth place after they beat the visiting Ferryhill B by the odd point. The home side took the first three points through Barry Fleming, Trevor Lomax and David Penman with David Nelson and Mark Wilson replying with wins in the last two frames. There was good news of Tom Ward for the Hunwick players for, after his bad accident his physiotherapist has taken away his walking frame (one of the few frames he has lost!), and he hopes to be back in league action in the very near future.
Bearpark B moved out of the bottom two in the Third Division and pushed the visiting Tow Law A down instead. Steven Gott, Alan Cooper, Bob Lumley and Graham Horrocks took the first four points for the home side but Tommy Williams won the last to prevent the whitewash.
Leeholme B came within a black ball of landing their second win of the season when they entertained Crowtrees B. Lee Todd and John Taylor won for the home side with Dave Lowery and Martin Wolf setting up the decider. Crowtrees edged to victory when Terry Gibson beat Anthony Forster on the black.
