Last weekend two Billingham swimmers competed at the Gateshead and Whickham Open Gala held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
The swimming was of a very high quality with competitors from all over the country in which our two members swam superbly.
Twelve-year-old Chris Wilkinson achieved a bronze medal in the 100m free followed by a fourth in the 200m free, eighth in the 400m IM and 12th in the 200m IM and in all his races he achieved personal bests of between three to five seconds off each race.
Eleven-year-old Glen Martin gained fifth place in the 400m free, sixth in both the 200 free and breast, seventh in the 100m fly and tenth in the 100m breast. He achieved four personal bests with a massive nine seconds in his 200m breast.
