Metro Church Sunderland against Heworth Christian Fellowship was lost to the weather which enabled Consett St Patrick's to claim the spot if they beat Ryton Churches at Belle Vue.

Andrew Murray put Saints 1-0 ahead before David Rowe stretched the lead to 2-0. A goal by Chris Barkless for Ryton made the last minutes of the match interesting, but Consett held on to win 2-1.

Two teams from the same church came head to head with Jesmond Parish Athenians playing Jesmond Parish Church with JPC always being noted as the first team. Michael Davison put Athenians ahead before half time and a pair from Alistair Gibson gave Jesmond a 2-1 lead. Ian Tew scored a double to put Athenians back in the lead 3-2, Jason Cochrane squared the match 3-3. David King-Lewis regained the lead for Athenians then with their goalkeeper lying on the ground John Rook scored to finish the match in a 4-4 draw.

Airport Church Newcastle travelled to Gateshead to play St Peter's Low Fell. Airport with the wind behind them took a 3-0 lead through Andy Barrie, Sam Cleghorn and Ben Oliver. On the hour Steve Reynolds pulled one back for St Peter's but Oliver for Airport notched his second and a header from a corner saw Kevn Parish give them a 5-1 win.

In division one the surprise victory went to Yarm Emmanuel who were playing Bethshan Christian Centre. Lee Dale, the manager of Yarm, inspired the win from the back and a 3-1 lead at half-time from Craig Laycock and two from Marc Dale. Chris Thompson netted for Bethshan, David McQuillam put Yarm into a 4-1 lead then Mark Langdown notched two quick goals with 20 minutes left, but Yarm were solid and held on for a 4-3 win.

In a local derby Shotley Bridge St John's Snods Edge fought out a 0-0 draw with Lanchester Chapel. Both teams had clearances off the goalline. John Cudden, Lanchester's goalkeeper, got the man of the match award and Michael Argle for St John's.

Whitley Bay Churches's Chris Stafford scored twice, Andy Hepple and Rob Lewis also scored at Jesmond Parish Corninthians. James Young scored for Corinthians for a 4-1 win and three points to Whitley Bay Churches.

In division two Youth Ministry team Waldridge soldiered on at Bethshan Athletic. Ben Wilkie put Youth 1-0 up after 45 minutes. Bethshan equalised from Godwyne Obot and Youth had to pull their socks up and they did with David Purdy netting a brace. David Miller and John Coffer gave them a 5-1 win.
