Newfit Services Willington: Willington Burn made a good away win when they visited Willington Brewer's Droop and came away with a three points success.
The Brewer's had singles wins from John McCann, Billy Wragg and John Moore with Stephen Smith and John McCann adding a doubles point. The Burn's singles winners were Tony Longhorn, Sean Pardew and Colin Davison with doubles points being added by Lyndon Taylor with Sean Pardew and Gordon Foster with Colin Davison. The Burn completed their good win by taking the team game.
There were two maximums scored; one came from Kevin Dunnett of Hunwick Joiners Arms and the other from John McCann of the Brewer's Droop.
Willington Lion and Unicorn lead the table by six points, but have played an extra game from second placed, Byers Green Royal Oak, who are one ahead of Willington Cottles, who also have a match in hand.

Tow Law New Market A moved into a very comfortable leading position after they only dropped one point to their B team and now lead the table by fifteen points with a match in hand. Stephen Umpelby took the only point for the B team in the singles with two 140s in a 16 darts finish, whilst the A team had singles wins from Arthur Atkinson, David Dixon, Kenneth Atkinson, Bob McFadden and Colin Armstrong. Andy Elston joined the singles winners to help the A team take both trebles points and the three doubles points.
Newhouse Club had a similar result at Tow Law Rose and Crown, whose lone point came from Christine Rand. The visiting singles winners were Bill Atkin, Keith Liddle, Steve Turner, Tom McQuillan and Steve Wilkie with Brian Jones joining them to take all three doubles and the two trebles points.

Crook Queen's Head A continued their relentless drive to the Championship when they won their 28th consecutive match with a nine points victory over the visiting Billy Row Green A. This moved them 22 points clear of Crook Jelly's Bar B, who also had a nine points win over Billy Row Green B, whilst the Victoria Club are 18 points adrift in third place.
The leading individual scorers were Carol Bradley 133 for the Black Horse, Val Readman 133 for the Victoria Club, Christine Rand 133 for the Station, Freda Morrison 125 for the New Market A and Lynn Easton 120 for Belle Vue Club. The best finish of the week came from Beverley Dixon of the Olde Horse Shoe with a 118 check-out.
The league will be extended by one week to allow all the matches cancelled last week because of the snow to be played on a normal match night instead of involving complicated re-arrangements.

Crook Olde Horse Shoe slipped down to third place when they went down by three points at Crook Mill House. Crook Royal Sun moved one point ahead of the Shoe with their odd point victory at Tow Law Dan's Castle. Crook Golden Fleece, who were without a match, still hold a seven points lead at the top with a game in hand.
