Wilton 1st continued their march in division one with their seventh consecutive win, visiting fourth place Tynemouth at Royal Quays, the game however was brought down to an almost farcical level by amateur officiating, both inexperienced umpires provided last second by Tynemouth after their failure to contact league pool umpires.

The Teessiders broke from the off and when Scott Morton was pole-axed in a one on one with the keeper, the first of three sure penalty strokes in the game was denied by the umpire. Morton did get his reward five minutes later, finishing a lovely passing move, Mark Whitworth added a second before half time in a game which was quickly becoming shooting practice for Wilton.

Man of the Match Adam Clarke cleared up everything in midfield, spurring on a flurry of Wilton attacks. It was a matter of time before Tombling cracked home, he found the net from a rebound to make it three.

Wilton were denied a glut of penalty corners, not by way of cheating but obvious ineptitude of the inexperienced umpires which was letting the game become clearly out of hand. Tynemouth resorted to a stick tackling, battling style, confident of escaping the umpires whistle. It was an unpunished foul that forced Wilton keeper Mark Morris into error. Tynemouth added another after a dubious penalty corner but Wilton took home the victory with a 3-2 scoreline.

Wilton 2nd played host to South Shields who have proved to be a thorn in the Teessiders side in recent seasons. Wilton meant business this time around and quickly went to work in a demolition of their opponents, Bob Leason opened the scoring with his first of an impressive brace, followed by man of the match Julian Barwick who rounded off a brace himself and Andy Gray added his first 2nd team goal in his first league appearance at this level taking Wilton into an impressive half time lead spoilt only by a South Shields goal from a long corner deflection.

Wilton's domination continued in the second half, More Wilton goals came from Glen Cutler, Johnny Couhig and Alex Harrison who got his reward after weeks of fruitless hard work in Wilton's forward line. South Shields frontman again nicked in front of the defence to deflect another strong delivery into the net past semi-retired stand in keeper Stuart Gourlay, saw hardly any action and might as well have stayed at home!! Final score Wilton 8, South Shields 2.

Wilton 3rds faced a tough challenge agaist a strong Redcar side. The seasiders struck early in the fifth minute and from then on dominated the first half. So much so that they scored three more goals to make it 0-4 at the break. Redcar then lost aplayer and the first half was reversed.

Wicks scored first for Wilton, Hibberd adding a second before Wicks bagged his brace. Redcar were reeling but somehow managed to hang on until the final whistle. Wilton 3, Redcar 4.
