Top three team in division two, Middleton St. George played hosts to The Northern Echo.
It was the home side who started stronger and could have taken an early lead if their chances had been converted, they eventually they got the breakthrough when Dan Hanafin scrambled an opener, the Echo came back straight away and equalised with a magnificent goal from Craig Maddison, but with James Briggs in the home goal in fine form, including a penalty save, the half finished 1-1.
The second half saw the visitors unable to finish off the chances their were creating, once again Briggs keeping the Echo down to a single goal.
The home side took the lead when Jamie Langburn went on a solo run around the Echo defence to finish off a fine individual effort, with MSG increasing the pressure a third goal arrived via an unfortunate defelction from Darren Stanley to turn the ball into his own net, with the Echo pushing forward looking for a goal MSG broke forward and when Hanafin was brought down in the box, the excellent Michael Cairns converted the spot kick, to make the final score 4-1.
Pepper Draughting Services kept up their excellent form for the season with a convincing 5-1 over visitors Hole In The Wall. On target for the home side were Anthony Pepper, Fred Hall and a hat-trick for Mark Finn, with Dave Hughes replying for the visitors. FRA Mowden produced a 3-0 win over the Royal British Legion to keep thier promotion hopes alive. The first half was devoid of any real chances, however in the second 45 minutes Mowden, the home side, took control with the impressive Paul Freary taking centre stage, notching two goals on his return to the club.
Yet another excellent display between the sticks for the RBL by Tony Lansdel kept the Mowden attack at bay with some outstanding saves along with some brave goalkeeping.
The in-form Stephen Thompson wrapped things up for the home side with his 15th goal of the season.
RBL never gave up and had what seemed a great shout for a penalty when Freary appeared to handle in his own area, but the luck was not with the visitors.
Cleveland Bridge kept up the pressure at the top of the league with another victory to keep their 100 per cent record in tact, this time the victory came at the expense of Peacocks Pub Co. with goals from Hewitt, Buckley, Wilson and Sheridan, for the home side, with Peacocks reply coming via Max Ripley effort the home side triumphed 4-1.
Berlins recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over Smurfit.
