DIVISION Two side Boot & Shoe claimed their first point of the season when they held Masons United to a draw last week.
Masons were leading 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals by George Richardson and Steven Alderson.
But a spirited fightback saw the Shoe bag their first elusive point thanks to goals by Brian McCourt and Trevor Dixon.
"Very pleased with the point," said Shoe boss Gordon Robinson. "It's been a difficult season but it's good to get our first point. We battled well and it will hopefully be the first point of many!"
Elsewhere, Grand pushed their chances of promotion no-end with a 2-1 win at home to Belvedere.
Mark Cowley and Mark Priestley were on target, and manager Shaun Reynolds was pleased with the win. "A battling eion," he said. "We were leading 2-0 at half-time and cruising, but let them back into the game after the break. Luckily we held on and it's a good result for us." Adrian Brown scored for Belvedere.
Elsewhere, Masons Arms won 8-0 at Middlestone Moor with goals by Justin Fox (2), Anthony Warnett (2), Stuart Thompson, Gary Dixon, Gavin Greenwood 0 and Peter Kerr.
Eldon Arms won 1-0 at Shildon Athletic thanks to an Andrew Sams goal.
In Division One, Tudhoe United caused a stir when they beat champions Newton Aycliffe.
Alan Barrett netted two and there was one each by Pat Watchman and Christian Schofield as Tudhoe shocked a faltering Aycliffe side.
"We didn't expect to win," said Tudhoe Secretary James Curley. "We went there expecting to be beat, but we dominated the game and should have scored more goals. We hit the post and bar in the first half. Aycliffe weren't themselves and they seem to be struggling at the minute." Russell Mercer scored Aycliffe's goal.
Elsewhere, Thorns won 3-1 at home to Horndale thanks to two goals by Steven Richardson and one by Martin Longthorne.
Loves won 4-0 at Green Tree with goals by Brent Mailer (2), Michael Howard and Terry Nelson.
Postchaise won 7-1 at home with four goals by striker Paul Thompson and each from Brendan Mullen, Gary King and Leigh Lamb. Peter Boucher scored Browney's only goal.
Old Shildon narrowly beat Salvins 3-2 thanks to strikes by Thomas Louden, Ian Maddison and Anthony Moss. Marc Nicholson scored both Salvins' goals.
Finally, Lakeside booked their place in the Division One Cup semi-finals with a 3-2 win over Beehive. Andy Clay, Wayne Marram and Steve Hepples scored for Lakeside, with Mark Pattinson and Adam Henderson netting for Beehive.
The semi-finals of the competition, which take place this coming Sunday, are between Lakeside v Old Shildon and Newton Aycliffe v Green Tree.
* The next league meeting will be held at Horndale WMC, Newton Aycliffe, on Wednesday February 4, from 8pm.
