A Darlington couple yesterday became the first in the town to renew their wedding vows in a special ceremony.
Ken Sunley, 49, and his wife Joanne, 35, took part in the Renewal of Vows ceremony, in the town's Central House, Gladstone Street.
The couple rededicated their wedding rings to each other ten years to the day since they were exchanged at the ceremony led by Civil Celebrant Dawn Whitear.
"We both decided that if we were still together after ten years then we would definitely renew our vows," said Mr Sunley, a project worker for the Salvation Army, in Darlington.
The couple celebrated with family and friends at the town's Memorial Hospital Social Club.
The Central House Register Office also offers commitment ceremonies and naming ceremonies.
