A DRUG addict burgled the home of a retired couple, a court heard.
Darren Newton took £300 in cash, plus other property from the bungalow, in Villa Real Road, Consett, County Durham, last August 4.
Newton, 26, admitted a charge of burglary when he came before Durham Crown Court yesterday. Sentence was adjourned for a probation report.
Recorder Charles Attwooll bailed Newton to an address in Beech Grove, Dipton, near Stanley, until next month.
