MORE than 2,500 calls were made to Crimestoppers in the North-East last year.
People in Cleveland made 1,145 calls, in Northumbria 988 and 491 in Durham.
The calls led to 201 people being arrested and charged in Cleveland, 156 in Northumbria and 122 in Durham.
The crime-fighting charity paid out £1,425 in reward money. It recovered property worth £80,916 in Cleveland, £17,809 in Northumbria and £2,942 in Durham.
There were 103 calls from this region to Crimestoppers elsewhere in the country, leading to 12 arrests and £3,730 worth of recovered property.
