ARMY recruits have left their mark on a school after helping with an early spring clean.
Young soldiers from the Prince of Wales Company, at the Infantry Training Centre, Catterick Garrison, carried out pond-clearing and cleaning at Le Cateau School.
They marked out an image of the infantry badge in coloured gravel on the grounds.
"It's been great," said headteacher Grahame Shepherd. "It's important we have a connection with the Army because we are part of the same community.''
The school is run by North Yorkshire County Council and a growing number of its pupils are from civilian families.
