THE search is on to find the North-East king of rock 'n' roll.
The contest aims to find the region's best Elvis impersonator, with a trip to Graceland on offer as first prize.
It has been organised by the Bear Factory store, in Gateshead's MetroCentre.
The first heat takes place in the store on Tuesday, from 6pm to 7pm. The six best singers will be asked back for the regional final at 6pm the next day. The winner will go to the national finals, at Hamleys toy store, London, on February 14.
