Division One, New Marske SC 3, Nunthorpe Ath 6: The only first division game to take place after the re-arrangement of matches resulted in New Marske being paired up with Nunthorpe Athletic.

The game was switched to Nunthorpe, although the away match was already played which Nunthorpe won 3-0, due to a waterlogged pitch at New Marske for the third consecutive week. Nunthorpe now being the home side took advantage and took a 4th minute lead through Paul Lancaster, but the basement club who had won last time out three weeks ago against Stokesley, drew level through Steve Thompson six minutes later, Nunthorpe regained their one goal advantage five minute later in the 15th minute when Simon O'Shea scored, Lancaster added his second of the match and the season to make 3-1 in the 30th minute before Darren Turley made it 4-1 at halftime. Ten minutes into the second half Nunthorpe made the points just about safe when O'Shea who has been the find of the season for Nunthorpe, scared his second of the match and 8th of the season to make it 5-1, on the hour Turley grabbed his second of the match and the season to make it 6-1, but New Marske battled back and made the scoreline more respectable when Glen Shepherd scored in the 75th minute and Dean Chapman scored in the 81st minute to make it a 6-3 score line.

In the second half the visitors pushed forward but could not find a goal to get them back on level terms, their hopes were dashed in the 82nd minute when they had David Clark sent off for an off the ball incident, but this had the reverse affect on Hartlepool as they pushed forward a man down and in the very last minute sent the match into extra time when Michael Harrison scored his first of the season to make it 2-2. The match went into extra time and eight minutes into the first period substitute Robbie Bell scored to make it 3-2, the visitors again pushed forward but still failed to make any impression on the score and bowed out leaving the holder a trick quarter final match away to Carlin How.

Thornaby YC 2, Wolviston Res 1

Thornaby Youth Club entertained fellow league side Wolviston Reserves knowing they had already beaten them twice in the league, but it was Wolviston Reserves who started out the brightest and after dominating the first twenty minutes it was no surprise when they took the lead when a shot from Chris Homer looped over Shane Hine in the Youth Club goal in the 25th minute, the visitors were well on top but did not add to their lead and a minute into the second half the Youth Club drew level in rather fortunate circumstances when a cross from Chris Cain flew into the top corner of the net. In the second half the home side again missed a number of good chances and were made to pay in the 75th minute when New Marske equalised through substitute James Kesterton to sent the game into extra time, the players were now tiring on the heavy pitch and the match was very dour but sparked into life in the 117th minute when Ian Swinnerton gave BEADS a 2-1 lead, but New Marske struck back from a corner in the last minute of extra time through Gary Owens to make at all square that resulted in a penalty shootout, their catalogue of missed chances continued as BEADS missed their first penalty and bowed out of the competition as New Marske won 5 - 3 in the penalty shootout to secure a semi-final berth.
