Auckland Area CIU League: West Auckland went down to their first darts defeat of the season when they lost the team game against their hosts at Cockton Hill.

Norman Watson and Tommy Ward took singles for the Hill with West's singles points coming from Robert Douthwaite and Chris Kitch.

Old Shildon kept up their revival in the darts section with an odd point win at Eldon Lane, their fourth consecutive victory after previously failing to record a win. Jeff Rowland, Darren Blood and Michael Aldworth were the Shildon winners.

Evenwood are in a handy spot in the dominoes section following their draw at Horndale. Chris Musgrave and George Mills won for the home side with Ronnie Preston and Tony Webb moving Evenwood four points behind the leading Old Shildon with two games in hand.

Old Shildon dominoes team were unable to stretch their lead in the dominoes section when they were held to a draw at home to Eldon Lane. Keith Gittens and Alan Bell won for the home side with Ronnie Thompson and Alan Race levelling.

John Richardson, Peter Brownson, Brian Denham and Chris Kitch brought off the surprise of the pool section when they whitewashed their hosts at Cockton Hill to go joint top with Old Shildon and leave the Hill trailing by four points.

John Bell and Alan Race took whist points for Eldon Lane at Old Shildon, who had wins from Colin Bell and Alan Bell junior. This pushed the Lane three points clear of Horndale.

John Collinson, Geoff Rowland and Alan bell won 5's and 3's points for Old Shildon, whilst John Bell replied for Eldon Lane. This win keeps Old Shildon one point clear of Horndale.

Willington Ladies League

Willington Club got back into darts form after only picking up one win in the last four weeks when they only dropped one point to the visiting Willington Lion and Unicorn. This moved the Club B five points clear at the top of the darts section with the Club A side in second place, twelve points ahead of Sunnybrow Brown Trout.

Willington Cottles A jumped up to second place in the dominoes section after they whitewashed their hosts at Hunwick Joiners Arms. Willington Burn were beaten at home by Willington Club A but still hold on to a five points lead. Willington Cottles B and the Prospect Club share third place, one behind Cottles A.

Kensington Cup

Willington Burn went out at home to Willington Brewer's Droop when they lost in the deciding captain's dominoes game. The pool singles were shared with Stephen Kyle, Darren Clark and Andy Irwin's points for the Burn being matches by wins from Keith Harris, Stephen Britton and Graham Hipkiss. The Brewer's then took the doubles by the odd point.

In the dominoes the Burn made up the one point deficit when they had wins from Joe Chatterton, Dave Griffiths and Robert Thompson against the Brewer's points from Jimmy Fleming and Vince Conaty. In the decider Stephen Britton took the Brewer's to the quarter final when he beat Stepmat is six singles at both snooker and dominoes and one doubles at each. In the event of a draw the captain's spin for the right to name the deciding game. Matches to be played on February 4.

Tow Law Scottish Courage Cup

Tow Law Dan's Castle A qualified to meet Tow Law Rose and Crown when they won the decider in their home semi against Newhouse Club.

On the pool table the Castle made an excellent start with wins in the singles from Anthony Hird, Lee Stockdale, Gary Watson and Ian Johnson but Newhouse pulled back by taking the last two singles through Ian Dinsdale and Steve Turner.

A win for Alan Henderson and Colin Armstrong in the first pool doubles made sure they would win the pool section but Newhouse kept the margin to a minimum when Steve Turner with Ian Dinsdale and Graeme Thompson with Rob Day took the remaining doubles.

Colin Armstrong and Anthony Hird won dominoes points for the Castle but Newhouse squared the entire match with wins from Rob Day, John Brown and Graeme Thompson. This set up the deciding captain's dominoes where Anthony Hird took the Castle to the final by beating Rob Day.
