LUMLEY Ladies took the honours in the Development Derby against local rivals Chester-le-Street, at the Riverside.
The Cestrians' development side had won both previous meetings in the Northern Region Intermediate League and cup this season.
But a strong Lumley team dominated Sunday's return league fixture from the start, with first-half goals from pacy front pair Jessica Harris (2) and Andrea Tomkins.
Chester-le-Street were unlucky not to reduce the arrears when Lynn Stanley saw a shot rebound off the bar onto the inside of the Lumley post, only to bounce to safety.
A strongly-contested second half brought just a single goal, with Lumley completing a 4-0 win when a possibly deflected corner appeared to sneak in at the near post through a packed penalty area.
