MP ALAN Milburn proved he had a big heart yesterday by backing a charity's Valentine's Day campaign.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is asking people to declare their feelings by sticking love notes in the window of its charity shops and making £1 donations.
Mr Milburn started the fundraising appeal with a love note to his constituents in Darlington.
The town's MP posted his note in the window of the BHF shop in Victoria Road.
Jane Tumilty, BHF's County Durham shops manager, said: "We want people to declare their love this Valentine's through a love note and help us raise £1m to fight heart disease, the UK's single biggest killer."
