FRED ALLART has a particular passion for collecting bottles and now part of his vast collection has gone on show.
Mr Allart, who lives with his wife, Andrea, in Sherburn Hill, has been seeking out bottles of every shape for more than two decades.
This week, some of his prize possessions went on display at the Discovery Centre, in Seaton Holme, Easington Village.
The selection of bottles at Seaton Holme represent a small percentage of Mr Allart's overall collection.
They include ink bottles, medicine bottles, alcoholic and herbal containers and his favourite deep blue poison bottles.
Mrs Allart, who helped assemble the collection at the Discovery Centre said her husband was not only a collector but an "out and out hoarder.''
She said: "He collects all kinds of things but has a particular passion for bottles."
"He has hundreds of examples stored in dozens of boxes but we have just brought a sample collection for the exhibition.''
The bottle display runs until the beginning of May.
