Esh Stag's Head revived their chances of repeating their Championship win of last season when they won the battle of the top two teams in their home match against Tow Law New Market A, who arrived holding a four points lead for this penultimate game in the league programme.
The Stag's began in staggering form when they took the six singles through Dave Hindmoor, Ray Brown, Colin Tomlinson, Tom March, Mally Walker and Dave Metcalfe. The visitors, who were seeing their Championship chance disappear, recovered to take the three doubles points and remain in pole position but with only a one point cushion. Tow Law New Market B are in third place, three points adrift of the Stag's but have completed their programme.
