A 13-YEAR-OLD rider from Potto is off to Leicestershire this weekend to take part in selection for a national team.
Emma Stokes, a member of the Cleveland Hunt Pony Club, and her 15-year-old pony, Misty, have been put forward for the England team selection trial for the Prince Philip Pony Club Games by her trainer, Rebecca Williamson.
Emma's mother, Helen, said: "She only started 15 months ago and really took up the games to keep Misty fit, as she rides a 14.2hh for show jumping.
"Emma is a very hard worker in everything she does and looks after the two ponies on her own."
The team selected will represent England at this year's Royal Windsor Horse Show.
Emma was in the Cleveland Hunt team which won the Area 2 Prince Philip Games competition at Kirkleatham showground, Redcar, in May last year.
They qualified to take part in a demonstration at the Bramham International Horse Trials in June and also the pony club games zone finals in Newark in July, but missed the opportunity to go on to the Horse of the Year Show.
