A 36-year-old woman was left with a fractured skull after she was struck by a car on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough.
The incident happened at around 9.50pm on Sunday as the woman was crossing the carriageway about 100 yards north of College Road, when she was hit by a Citroen Saxo.
The woman, who is from Middlesbrough, was taken to the James Cook University Hospital. The 19-year-old car driver, who is also from Middlesbrough, was unhurt. Anyone who may have any information about the incident is asked to contact the Crash Investigation Unit on (01642) 301558.
