COLLEGE staff have shown their support for the Darlington Football Club by wearing soccer strips.
Staff at Darlington College of Technology donated £1 to the supporters' trust when they went to work in the club colours of black and white, or any football shirt.
College principal and chief executive Sarah Farley said: "The college plays a key role in Darlington and we ardently wanted to do something to show our support for Darlington Football Club.
"We have a highly-successful football development centre, which allows students to study while receiving professional coaching for a career in the game, and we have enjoyed good links with the club.
"We want to support football in the town for the good of everyone."
The supporters' trust crisis fund was also swelled by a donation of more than £2,000 recently.
Tony and Lesley Waters, of Olympic Street Mini Stores, in Darlington, presented team captain Neil Maddison with two cheques, one for £330 and the other for £2,000.
They raised the £330 in the shop, and the £2,000 came from their friend, Neil Johnson, who gave a personal donation of £1,000 and raised another £1,000.
Mr Johnson is the founder of the Darlington Association for Travelling Supporters (Dafts), which he set up while he lived in Norway.
