Two goals early in the second half ended Darlington RA's interest in the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup at Boldon CA on Saturday.
Kevin Lloyd gave the home side a 12th-minute lead but RA hit back and their hopes were raised when Paul Freary levelled on the stroke of half time.
But Michael Meek celebrated his return to the side by restoring Boldon's advantage on 50 minutes and when Craig Rolfe added a third goal, RA were unable to make further inroads.
Stokesley SC comfortably reached the semi finals, defeating Teesside rivals Wolviston 4-0. Craig Johnson gave them the incentive of a fifth-minute goal and in the 40th minute, he beat the offside trap to present Wolviston with a formidable second-half challenge.
It was all over by the 70th minute as Jonathan Newton and Tony Sivells also found the net.
Birtley Town had to work hard for a 2-1 win at Jarrow. Ross Preston gave them the lead three minutes before the break when he struck after the ball had rebounded from both the crossbar and a post.
Michael Ford headed in Birtley's second but when Paul McDonald reduced the arrears, he set up a frenetic final 17 minutes. With just a minute remaining, he had the chance to take the tie into extra time but Birtley goalkeeper Daryl Preston pulled off a magnificent save.
Gateshead Reserves went through with a 2-0 win over Whitehaven at the International Stadium. Simon Reay and Paul Gibbs were the marksmen.
In the league, second-from-bottom Washington Nissan UK denied Cleadon SC third position when they held their illustrious opponents to a 1-1 draw.
Gavin Wilson put them ahead on the hour and the game was into extra time when Derek Newton grabbed the equaliser.
Anthony Kent converted two penalties for Harton and Westoe in his side's 2-2 draw with Annfield Plain for whom Mark Davison and John Moore scored while Ferryhill Athletic lost 3-0 at Ryhope CW, conceding all the goals in the first 27 minutes to Stephen Rochester, Alan Surtees and George Marley.
New Marske went out of the North Riding County Cup when Kirby Moorside won 5-4 on penalties. James Kesterton, Simon Welsh and Ben Walker scored for New Marske as the tie ended 3-3 following extra time. Kirby Moorside now meet Stokesley SC in the final.
