FOOTBALL fans packed a Shildon pub to get a glimpse of Middlesbrough Football Club's first major trophy for more than 100 years.
The Carling Cup was on display at the town's Royal George Tavern this week, as it started a tour of drinking establishments owned by Billingham-based pub company New Century Inns.
Baby Jessica Costello, her mother Louise Alderson, father Dennis Costello, and brother Dean, from Shildon, were among the many fans which posed for photograph with the Teesside club's silverware.
The cup has also been on display in Darlington, Bishopton and Sedgefield, following Boro's 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers on February 29.
Executive chairman of New Century Inns and Middlesbrough season ticket holder Alistair Arkley said: "The atmosphere in the pubs has been terrific.
"There were fans who had been waiting all their lives for this and others, like baby Jessica, who might not have known too much about it but have a memento of a fantastic occasion."
