A MOTHER-of-three is preparing to walk over 20ft of burning hot coals to raise money for charity next week.
Angela Thomson, of Sandriggs, Darlington, decided to tackle the fire walk challenge in aid of St Cuthbert's Hospice, in Durham.
She said: "My cousin, who was just 23, died recently from prostate cancer so I just thought I would do something to help other people who are suffering. I love doing things for charity and I thought this looked challenging and exciting."
The 38-year-old will join at least 35 others taking part in the event in Durham market place on Wednesday. She has already raised £200 for the hospice, but is appealing for more backers, and can be contacted on (01325) 488330.
For more information about the challenge, contact St Cuthbert's community fund-raiser Michele Woods on 0191-386 1170.
