MORE than 120 workers at the LG Philips Displays plant, at Belmont, near Durham, are taking advantage of the company's new training resource centre.
Twenty have signed up for Learning and Skills Council (LSC) initiatives to improve literacy, language and numeracy skills.
The success of the £25,000 venture, which opened in March last year, has earned the plant the status of LSC exemplary employer for the promotion of lifelong learning.
Employee Mark McNamara, who has been seconded from manufacturing to work in the resource centre, said: "This initiative is going down extremely well because the courses offer help in everyday life."
