A BOOK telling the story of a famous North-East regiment's final battle is launched today.
Author and former soldier Mike Kelly will be at the Combined Services Club, in Spennymoor, County Durham, from 7pm.
His book, The Last Conflict, details the involvement of the Durham Light Infantry in the war in Borneo in 1966.
Hartlepool-born Mr Kelly will be joined by former comrade Totty Taylor, originally from Coxhoe, County Durham, who is compiling a list of former DLI soldiers.
Mr Taylor, who lives in Colchester, Essex, has already contacted 150 ands can be reached on (01206) 231214.
The Last Conflict, priced £10.95, is available from bookshops or by calling 0117-923 8891. Ten per cent of the profits will be donated to associations for veterans of the conflict.
