A SUPPORT group for cardiac patients through exercise has received a welcome boost.
The Take Heart Support Group received more than £1,500 from a variety of sources, which will be used to benefit patients who attend its classes in Middlesbrough and east Cleveland.
The group received a £972 grant from the Guisborough Market Town Initiative, which will pay for tutors' fees and venue hire for the Guisborough classes held at Sunnyfield House and Guisborough Football Club on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The North Ormesby Neighbourhood Management provided £300 through its Community Projects Fund for the North Ormesby class, which meets on Thursdays in the Methodist Church Hall.
Skelton and Brotton Parish Council donated £100 towards the Friday morning class at the Skelton Youth and Community Centre.
Loftus Parish Council has given £75 to assist cardiac patients attending the Deepdale Pentecostal Church Hall, Loftus, on Thursdays.
Barclaycard Teesside donated £100 and promised a further £100 through the company's £1 for £1 staff fundraising scheme at Stockton. The money will assist with running costs for all the classes.
