A COMMUNITY centre which will reopen this month after a revamp is celebrating its latest cash windfall.
Tow Law Community Centre has undergone a £480,000 refurbishment to add a computer suite, crche facilities, an office and a meeting room.
The centre will also provide space for a health visitor, four district nurses, the community police officer, community activities and after-school clubs for youngsters.
The latest grant, a £65,000 donation from the Government's Rural Enterprise Scheme (RES), will be used to buy equipment for the extension.
The scheme has been backed by the European Regional Development Fund, the Lottery, One NorthEast, Durham Dales Primary Care Trust, The Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and The Tudor Trust.
Facilities will include a computer suite, crche facilities and an office and meeting room.
Jenny Flynn, secretary of Tow Law Community Association, said: "We want an improved and vibrant venue for community-based training, child care, information and technology courses and business support facilities."
The association plans to offer a base for an IT trainer, a community enterprise worker and two project workers to support local businesses services and ventures.
