Durham Victoria Bridge went down 2-1 at home to Hartlepool Town. Chris Birkbeck struck a controversial penalty after 32 minutes to give Town a 1-0 lead but Nicky Baker levelled two minutes later when he received a nice cross from Ian Brown on the left which left him with only the keeper to beat.
The Town won the game three minutes into the second half when the Vic's defence failed to clear, allowing Stephen Doyle to hit the ball home for the three points.
Whitehill went down 1-0 at home to Gateshead A. The only goal came in the 24th minute after David Stephenson was brought down in the penalty area by a Whitehill defender. Andrew Peacock stepped up to make no mistake from the spot.
Durham University and Birtley Town Reserves shared the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 draw. On the scoresheet for Durham was Liam Bell (2) and Danny Close. A couple from Michael Bradley and another from David Auld made a 3-3 draw a fair result.
The League Challenge Cup semi final between Seaham Mallard and Coxhoe Athletic
was postponed because the Mallard's pitch was waterlogged. Both clubs allowed common sense to prevail and decided to play their league game on Coxhoe's pitch with Coxhoe thrashing the Mallard 13-1. David Hutchinson and Lee Atkinson bagged four goals each, Dean Smithson hit a hat-trick with John Dury getting the other two. Michael Wilkinson replied for the Mallard, who will be hoping for a change in fortune next time round.
Ebchester FC went down 5-3 at home to Simonside SC in a cracking game. On the score sheet for Simonside were Mark Bonner with one and Michael Ord and Andrew Price bagged a brace each as Simonside ran out eventual winner. A goal from Phil Dodd and a couple from Chris Parkin replied for Ebchester, but it wasn't quite enough to get a share of the spoils.
