DARLINGTON boss David Hodgson Hodgson will recall skipper Neil Maddison for tomorrow's visit of Cambridge.
The 34-year-old midfielder was rested for the midweek win against Cheltenham.
In his absence Brian Close made an impressive full debut, but Hodgson said: "I spoke to Closey this week and he understands the situation.
"He came in and did a fantastic job but regardless of the result on Tuesday night he knew that we were just resting Maddo for a game.
On-loan Sunderland striker Neil Teggart is pushing for a recall and could get the nod over Craig Russell tomorrow.
Hodgson is still hopeful of landing Middlesbrough striker Daniel Graham on loan, but Craig James, who spent two months on loan at the Reynolds Area, is ready to sign for Port Vale after being released by Sunderland.
The manager has warned his players there is no room for complacency with League safety within their sights.
Hodgson believes three more wins will guarantee Third Division football next season.
With ten games remaining, in-form Quakers are nine points clear of the relegation zone after Tuesday night's win.
And after winning six of their last eight League games, Hodgson's men are second in the Third Division form table, behind fifth-placed Torquay.
"It is important the lads take every game with the same approach between now and the end of the season," said Hodgson.
"We still need to win two or three to make sure, but even if we do that the season does not end there. We've built up a good run and it would be a shame to see all that hard work go to waste.
"It's important we keep that momentum going."
Cambridge boss John Taylor hopes to make Ashley Nicholls' loan move to the Abbey Stadium permanent. As part of the temporary deal, Nicholls is unable to play tomorrow. Taylor is hoping to sign him permanently and said: "He has been first-class here. There's a hope something could happen before Saturday."
However, Hodgson is unlikely to sanction a deal today - unless Nicholls is prevented from playing tomorrow.
* Southend have handed Steve Tilson the manager's job until the end of the season.
