A MAN who went missing from his home this week is being urged by police to contact his family to let them know he is safe.
Michael Ferens, 32, of Oakenshaw, near Crook, County Durham, was last seen at his home by his father at 1pm on Wednesday.
He lives with his parents, who are concerned because he needs medication which he left behind.
Mr Ferens is 5ft 10in and stockily built. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, black padded jacket, blue jeans and black Caterpillar boots.
Inspector Simon Orton, of Crook police, said: "Mr Ferens requires medication which he does not have with him. His family are beside themselves with worry and would appreciate a call from him so they can be satisfied he is safe and well.
"It is out of character for Mr Ferens to do something like this. He is the sort of person who does not go out very much, keeps himself to himself and is not keen on socialising.
"We would urge him to contact us or his parents."
Crook police can be contacted on (01388) 762011.
