ASPIRING rock bands abounded at Darlington's Hummersknott School and Language College when young musicians played in support of the Fair Trade campaign.
Four former pupils who make up the successful town band Fude - Adam Austin, Sam Cull, Jack Hardwick and Matthew Roberts - headlined the event on Thursday night.
Fude donated half of proceeds made on compact discs to the organiser, student Rachel Howarth, with the event highlighting the need for fair trade between rich and poor countries.
Other bands appearing were: Ending Sentence, the all-girl rock line-up of Robyn Challends, Megan Craggs, Nerissa Gault and Rachel Howarth; the punksters of Jibberish 69, Jonathan Rafferty, Richard Worrall, Thomas Oliver and Kelvin Bland; the Blink 182-inspired Bees In A Jar, Matthew Eland, Chris Field and Jonathan Rafferty, and mellow rock outfit Rival, Jon Pel-Illderton, Rob Field, Luke Murphy and Michael Nunn.
