A CENTRE offering support for thousands of carers believes it is being targeted by vandals.
Derwentside Carers Centre, in Delves Lane, near Consett, has suffered a spate of attacks in which windows have been smashed.
Audrey Wells, from the centre, said: "This may be a game to someone, but it is a costly game for us.
"We are a charity and we simply cannot afford to keep replacing windows.
"We put the first attack down to a stray snowball, but it is obvious we are being targeted. We are very concerned that it could escalate."
The centre, which is attached to Delves Lane Village Hall, provides support to more than 12,500 full and part-time carers in Derwentside.
It offers outreach work, palliative care and a respite service.
