MORE than 300 people took part in a series of workshops to mark International Women's Day at the weekend.
The tenth annual event at Redcar Bowl was hailed a success after workshops on skills ranging from crystal healing to line dancing were booked up all day on Saturday.
Event organiser Tracy Kydd, of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, said men as well as women took part.
She said: "We had a little celebration on Saturday night because it went so well. One of the most popular workshops was in nail art but there was Indian head massage, Bollywood dancing, African drumming, you name it, and everyone was busy all day."
International Women's Day was started by a group of New York women in 1857 who were protesting against unfair pay
