CONSULTANTS will be chosen soon to draw up a £1bn redevelopment vision for Teesside.
The idea of a 15-year master plan to regenerate the river bank wasteland between Middlesbrough and Stockton was launched in November by the respective councils working in partnership.
Middlesbrough Mayor Ray Mallon and Stockton Borough Council leader Bob Gibson have announced a wish list of 25 significant features along the Tees corridor linking the two towns, including a music arena, sports complex, hotel and conference centre, housing and offices.
The councils said more than 30 applications to be involved in a £200,000 consultancy study was now a shortlist of seven and a decision would be made within days.
