A MAN has been warned he faces jail after being caught with ammunition.
Leslie Forth, 42, claims 19 rounds of 7.65mm bullets were thrown over his garden wall before being kept by him in a shed at his allotment.
Andrew Walker, prosecuting, told Newcastle Crown Court: "The Crown cannot accept that but cannot call any evidence that challenges that assertion."
Forth, of Warwick Terrace, Silksworth, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to possessing ammunition without a firearms certificate on August 20, last year.
Sentence was adjourned for three weeks for the preparation of reports.
But Judge Beatrice Bolton told him: "In admitting bail, I am not indicating the court will pass a non-custodial sentence. I must warn you are at risk of a custodial sentence."
