A COMMUNITY bus is on the roads of rural Durham, thanks to a £33,000 grant.
Langley Park Community Transport Association got the cash from the Rural Enterprise Scheme, run by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
The group, which runs specially adapted buses for the elderly, disabled and community groups, will use the extra bus to expand its service.
Neil Gregory, association manager, said it had five minibuses, but passenger and journey numbers were increasing each year so there was a need to expand the fleet.
It will help the group run a weekly Shoppabus service and provide transport to help people to access training and employment, plus health and leisure facilities
