A school has become the first in York to win national recognition for its creative use of computers.
Lidgett Grove, in Acomb, is only the second in the country to receive a Naacemark award for information technology excellence.
The city's MP, Hugh Bayley, will join pupils today to congratulate them on their achievements, which the school plans to share with others in the area.
Students have been using digital images to help in the classroom as well as in their own work.
As a result, the school has been approached by a company that develops IT software.
The firm has indicated an interest in using the classrooms to pilot further projects
