WORLD-BEATING digital expertise, devised in the North-East, was showcased on the global stage yesterday at Europe's largest technology event.
A 12-strong delegation from the region took part in CeBIT, in Germany.
Arjuna Technologies, of Newcastle, was selected to appear in the show's Innovation Island section - where the latest technologies from the UK were showcased.
The company is a leader in transaction processing and messaging for Web services.
Arjuna's products prevent the loss of data that usually occurs when transactions between one company and another are interupted by Internet or computer failures.
Dave Ingham, Arjuna chief technology officer, said: "The worldwide exposure that CeBIT represents is a fantastic opportunity to test the water in terms of technology and the business opportunities available to us."
Also appearing at CeBIT was DMRG, of Durham, which displayed technology designed to help companies get new products to market more quickly.
The CeBIT delegation was sponsored by Codeworks, the centre of excellence established to encourage growth in digital technology in the region.
