Spraire Lasses met Norton & Stockton Ancients at the Norton ground in a highly competitive and entertaining game. With the wind behind them Norton started full of determination but Spraire's Jordan Atkinson opened the scoring with a powerful run from midfield to slot the ball home.
Norton could have scored in the fifth minute but a ferocious shot rattled the bar.
Spraire captain Rachel McKnight got on the scoresheet just after the break with a shot from the half way line. Norton, playing excellent football, pressurised Spraire and got their reward with a goal in the 52nd minute. Norton levelled the scoring just before the final whistle with a penalty following a controversial handball following a free kick. Spraire, with only a minute left, gained victory when Laura Gowling gained space and scored following a neat move from Hannah Marshall.
A lacklustre start from the Darlington Spraire Lasses Under-16s appeared to be a continuation of the poor performance of the previous week and Consett capitalised and, despite the efforts of goalkeeper Chloe Atkinson, the first half finished with Spraire Lasses trailing 3-1.
Darlington found their form in the second half. And through the pace and finishing touch of Danni Shutt two quick goals levelled the score at 3-3. Inevitably Darlington took the lead when the ball fell to Rebecca Brabbs who made no mistake.
But the celebrations were cut short. Consett broke away and grabbed the equaliser to make the final score 4-4.

South Durham Royals
South Durham Royals travelled to Blyth Spartan Ladies on Sunday and in a blustery wind and on a heavy pitch, which was hosting it's third match in 24 hours, found conditions far from ideal.
Even so, kicking into the wind and under constant pressure Royals created four good chances in a goaless first half.
The second half saw Royals create the pressure and Blyth defend stubbonly with Tracy Swales hitting the bar in the 75th minute. In the 88th minute Royals player of the match, Sarah Flatman, played a cross-field ball to Royals substitute Sam Clark to confidently convert from 15 yards to seal another win for South Durham Royals.
Royals face a difficult away game at second place Crook Town next Sunday.
Durham City
Durham City were unfortunate not to have taken at least a point form their encounter with Crook Town as they enjoyed the lion's share of the chances but went on to lose 3-1. Although second-placed Crook broke with an early goal in the first half, it did not break Durham's resolve, and they created plenty of chances before Emma Collinson's superb equaliser after half an hour. Crook added another goal before the break, and City went into the interval ruing the missed chances.
The second half saw Durham City dominate clear-cut chances, and Crook were limited largely to long range efforts on the counter attack. City failed to finish any of the one-on-ones with the Crook keeper, and as they continued to push forward, Crook capitalised with a goal in the 80th minute. City winger Charlotte Rimmer was later fouled in the box but Julie Campbell failed to convert the spot kick.
A much needed point would have been richly deserved for City, who showed great character after the previous week's humiliation against South Durham Royals.
Lumley Ladies
Pride of place goes to Lumley's Under-13s who narrowly edged out Stockton West End on penalties to reach the Tyne-Tees Cup Final.
In an epic semi-final tie Lumley raced into a 3-0 lead, and were 5-2 up at half-time, thanks to a hat-trick by Rachael Kirkup, with Stacey Bonney and Melissa Sandland adding the other goals.
But the visitors fought their way back and equalised in the closing minutes of regulation time after a long wind-assisted throw.
There were no goals in extra-time, leaving it a 5-5 tie, and so to penalties.
It went to sudden death where Lumley keeper Amy Gaskill proved the match-winner saving Stockton's seventh attempt before scoring herself to squeeze the home side through to the final.
* Lumley's senior side remain on target to seal the Northern League Division Two title, having already secured promotion.
Carolanne Hughes and Sarah Price (2) were the scorers as Lumley maintained their unbeaten record with a 3-1 win at Rutherford Ravens.
Lumley complete their fixtures with home games against Ravens and Cleator Moor Celtic, from Cumbria, over the next two Sundays.
Ferryhill Town Youth
Ferryhill Town Youth Girls finally got under way at the weekend and their first game was at home to Consett Badgers. They started lively, leading 1-0 thanks to Danielle O'Sullivan's goal. The Badgers leveled after half-time, then an excellent goal by Katie Meek won the match.
The second game saw the girls travel to South Durham Royals who triumphed 4-0.
Girl of the match for 110 per cent effort Rebecca Brass
