SPRING sunshine bathed pupils from a primary school when they attended a wedding ceremony and baptism on Wednesday.
The young ones from Ingleton School learn about religious ceremonies and the importance of marriage as part of the national curriculum.
"We hold the ceremonies at St John's Church every couple of years as part of our teaching of religious education," said headteacher Judith Pressley. "Everything went very well and we all had a lovely day."
The bride and bridegroom were portrayed by Samantha Elliott and Marcus Weaver, with Harry Armstrong as best man. Six bridesmaids - Megan Hall, Jasmine Cowley, Harrie Alderson, Laura Wilson, Beth Salkeld and the bride's sister, Zabrina Elliott - followed the happy couple down the aisle. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev Richard Bainbridge, whose wife, Christine, teaches at the school.
Afterwards a buffet reception was provided by school caterers Scolarest, who also organised a wedding cake. Wedding favours - small tokens for the guests to take home - were made by parent Julia Dunn.
The buffet doubled up as a celebration for the christening of baby Benjamin Jack. His "parents" were Sarah Stephenson and Andrew Fearnyhough. Scolarest also provided a cake.
