South Cleveland Garages Teesside League - DIVISION ONE - Bedale FC 0 Hartlepool FC 2

Bedale were no match for Hartlepool after an evenly contested first half. A minute into the second half Hartlepool took the lead when Glen Watson and Ian Davies combined for Davies to have his well hit shot turned away by the Bedale keeper but Watson followed up and headed the loose ball home. Hartlepool doubled their lead when Neil Hay fed Davies out on the right and he cut inside and cracked home a right foot shot past the stranded keeper for his eighth of the season.

Richmond Town 1 Thornaby YC 0

Richmond Town made it six matches undefeated since being beaten by finalists Kirkbymoorside in the North Riding County Cup back in late January. The home side made the breakthrough in the 50th minute when a mix-up in the Thornaby defence between a defender and his goalkeeper resulted in the ball droping to Thompson who headed into an empty net for his ninth of the season. The match entered time added on and in the six minutes played Thornaby got on top and a great run by Darren Fixter was ended with a foul in the penalty area by Steven Hunter. Keeper James Allis was sent off for protesting too much. Michael Sartini took over in goal and could only watch in disbelief and glee as Chris Cain blazed the ball miles wide.

SMG Redstripes 2 BEADS FC 3

Lee McKinnell opened after five minutes with his first goal of the season before David Longhorn gave SMG Redstripes a surprising 2-0 half-time lead. In the second half the visitors pushed forward and finally pulled a goal back in the 70th minute when Darren Roulston scored. BEADS were reduced to ten men when Lee Bowes saw red but this seemed to spur on the Middlesbrough side and Steven Boyle made it 2-2 eight minutes later. In the last minute Roulston struck again to give BEADS all three points.

Stokesley SC 0 Fishburn Park 2

Stokesley'S move away from the relegation zone was put on hold after they slipped to a defeat by Whitby visitors Fishburn Park. Paul Graham and an James Ruse own goal secured a victory.

Wolviston Res 5 Thornaby FC 3

Wolviston Reserves put a spoke into the title aspirations of Thornaby. After going 2-0 behind to Danny Jones 18th goal of the season and Darren Bullock's strike they fought back to lead 3-2 at half time. Chris McGill was set through and turned his defender and beat Anthony Price in the visitors' goal. Eight minutes later it was all-square when McGill again beat his marker and headed home a Darren Beattie cross. Five minutes before half time McGill completed his hat trick in only his second outing when he reacted quickest from a corner to ram the ball into the roof of the net. In the second half Thornaby pulled it back to 3-3 when a great run and cross from Neil Preston found Martin Speight who fired home from 25 yards to make it all square at 3-3. The match was end to end with both sides having chances and both sides hitting the woodwork, but in the 82nd minute a long speculative cross from Beattie was helped into his own net by keeper Price in the Thornaby goal to give Wolviston a narrow 4-3 lead. Two minutes from time the home side secured the points when on the break Glen Walker ran from his own half before scoring to make it 5-3 and make the title chase even more interesting.
