THE artistic skills of a nine-year-old girl have won her top prize in a national competition - with the help of teenage magician Harry Potter.
Charlotte More was asked to design a character using apples, in a healthy eating competition run by Le Crunch.
Her fruity version of Harry was deemed the best in the country, winning her family a holiday in Disneyland and £1,000 for her school, Seamer and Irton Primary, near Scarborough.
Inspired by Charlotte's creativity, headteacher Jenny Henshaw yesterday organised an "applethon" character-making class with the help of Le Crunch apples.
Charlotte joined her classmates to create their favourite story book characters using apples and other fruits and vegetables.
The school is a participant in the healthy schools scheme and has stepped up its activity to help prevent childhood obesity following the publication of research showing that one in three parents in the region struggle to get their children to eat fruit and vegetables
