CONSERVATIONISTS are looking for volunteers for a project in the new community orchard in Reeth, next week.
Fours days have been set aside to build a compost facility to help to make the most of the fruit trees in the walled orchard at Hudson House community office - and the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers is appealing for people to help.
Grants to cover the cost of raw materials have come from regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward, and the Heritage Lottery Fund via the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
Anyone who would like to help, can catch a minibus to Reeth from the BTCV office at Kiplin Hall daily at 8.30am between next Thursday and Sunday, March 28.
Tools will be provided although volunteers are advised to dress warmly and take a packed lunch.
More details are available by telephoning (01748) 811970.
