A SCHOOLGIRL is following in her sister's academic footsteps.
Ten-year-old Rosie Craggs, who attends Kelloe Primary School, has been awarded a scholarship to Durham High School.
Last year, her 12-year-old sister Megan won a scholarship to the same school, which is recognised as one of the most successful public schools in the region.
Yesterday, Rosie said: "I am really looking forward to going to Durham High School in September.''
She is relishing studying subjects including French and Latin. "I like languages and I think they will be good for me in the future."
But languages don't figure in Rosie's long term hopes: "What I would really like to be is a paramedic," she said.
Rosie and Megan live in Kelloe with parents Angie and David.
Rosie's headteacher, Carole Musztacs said yesterday that parents of all the pupils at the school are notified each year of various available scholarships.
Megan and Rosie had been the first two to take up the opportunity
