EASINGTON MP John Cummings announced yesterday that he is one of the 100 members of parliament supporting Real Nappy Week 2004.
The campaign, which is co-ordinated by Women's Environmental Network (WEN), has been launched to raise awareness of the environmental impact of nappies and to provide parents with what it describes as a "fair choice".
The leading waste prevention campaign has cross-party support in Parliament and the scheme is recognised as a key element of the Government's waste minimisation strategy.
WEN is planning to publish a report Nappies and the NHS - Waste Prevention and Fair Choice for Parents on Monday, to highlight the role of the NHS in the initiative.
