FINAL preparations are under way for an exhibition that will feature sculpture, painting, glassware, pottery and textile work from 40 artists.

The exhibition runs this Saturday and Sunday at the Galtres Centre, in Easingwold.

It has been organised with youngsters in mind and they will get the chance to make their mark on the art world.

Workshops will be available to enable teenagers to help create a graffiti mural and younger children can try their hands at decorating ceramic mugs.

Kate Staines, Hambleton District Council's arts development officer, said: "This event will establish the Galtres Centre on the arts map.

"It is attracting some very well known local artists. Landscape painter, Debbie Loane, rug maker, Sally Coomer and fused glass specialist, Steve Collins, will be among the exhibitors.

"They are already very well known regionally and internationally, so we are delighted they are showing their work in Easingwold."

She also thanked the Galtres Centre for supporting the event and Easingwold-based Rainbow Arts and Crafts, which has co-ordinated the exhibitors. The exhibition is open from 10am until 5pm and admission is free.
