A METHODIST preacher is returning to the North-East to mark the completion of a year of celebrations for the 300th anniversary of John Wesley's birth.
The Reverend Dr Leslie Griffiths began the celebrations with a visit to Durham a year ago. An author and broadcaster, he is a well known contributor to Thought for the Day on Radio 4.
On Saturday, he will deliver a public lecture, called The Fight For His Life, in the 1820 Brunswick Methodist Church, near Northumberland Street, in Newcastle city centre.
The lecture, at 2pm, is open to the public with no advance booking necessary.
