TWO people are recovering after their car smashed into a concrete barrier on Sunday.
The accident happened at around 4.10pm, on the A167 road close to the Hermitage roundabout, at Chester-le-Street.
The car left the dual carriageway and veered into the central reservation. Firefighters freed the driver and passenger and they were treated for minor injuries at the University Hospital in Durham.
Fire officers also attended a collision between a bus and a car outside the Salutation pub, in Framwellgate Moor, at 3pm the same day. No one was hurt in the crash.
On Saturday, firefighters had to cut a man from the wreckage of his car, after it collided with another vehicle at around 12.10pm on the Bowburn to Sherburn House Road near Durham.
The man and another woman were also taken to the University Hospital and treated for minor injuries and shock.
