IDENTICAL twins Chris and David Peacock received an award for their contribution to the police force.
The brothers called it a day as section officers with the Special Constabulary in Newton Aycliffe, on their 55th birthdays last October. They have received engraved gold plaques from Durham Deputy Chief Constable Jon Stoddart for a combined 54 years unbroken service.
Chris was a Durham special policeman for 18 months during the Sixties, but left to join the Ministry of Defence Police, where he served for eight years.
David first joined Cleveland Police, before moving to Durham in January 1976 - ten months before his brother.
